Dream BIG Day Camp owner and director, Mary Stein, is a former owner/director of Camp Echo Lake in New York. She served as a board member with the American Camp Association – New York section as well as with Project Morry, a unique camping program for underprivileged children.
Mary chaired the 2005 auction for Temple Emanuel Pre-School and the 2008 auction for the Montessori School of Denver where she has been a member of the Parent Executive Committee. She held various fundraising positions including Golf Tournaments and Casino Nights. She is also the past president of her homeowner’s association in Vail, Colorado. Mary loves to ski and bike with her family. Mary grew up in Denver where she competed in high school basketball, volleyball and soccer.
She graduated from the University of Colorado and earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in New York. Mary worked as a child therapist for several years in New York City and Westchester County, NY. Mary was nominated as an Outstanding Woman in Business in Denver and sits on the board of the Rose Women’s Organization. She loves to ski with her sons, Will and Morry.
Assistant Director of Summer Operations, Jen O’Leary, best known as “Jell-O” around camp, met Mary Stein while working as a Group Leader and Assistant Head Counselor at Camp Echo Lake in New York. Jen caught the camp bug immediately and was thrilled to rejoin camp life when Dream Big opened in Denver in 2007.
Jen received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders with a minor in Child Development from California State University, Fullerton. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in Communication Disorders also at CSU Fullerton. She has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist for 13 years and currently works in Jefferson County Public Schools. Jen works with elementary students with special needs in kindergarten through 6th grade. While working in California she was awarded the Parent-Teacher Association VIP honor for her dedication to children.
Jen grew up in southern California and followed her family to Colorado in 2007. She loves spending time with her family and especially loves her role as “Aunt Jenny” to her four nephews and two nieces. Jen enjoys playing soccer and skiing, loves following football and baseball and attending all types of live sporting events. Jen is passionate about Dream Big and looks forward to camp all year long!
