Directors

The directors, Mary and George Stein, actually met at camp and are proud parents of 9 year old twin boys, Will and Morry. Mary is a former owner/director of Camp Echo Lake in New York. She served as a board member with the American Camp Association – New York section as well as with Project Morry, a unique camping program for underprivileged children.

Mary chaired the 2005 auction for Temple Emanuel Pre-School and the 2008 auction for the Montessori School of Denver where she is currently a member of the Parent Committee. She is also the president of her homeowners association in Vail, Colorado. Mary loves to ski and bike with her family. Mary grew up in Denver where she competed in high school basketball, volleyball and soccer. She graduated from the University of Colorado and earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in New York. Mary worked as a child therapist for several years in New York City and Westchester County, NY.  Mary was recently nominated as an Outstanding Woman in Business in Denver!

George was a 3rd generation owner/director of Camp Echo Lake where he spent 35 summers. George’s grandparents founded the camp in 1946. He held virtually every position possible at the camp during his tenure there. George has served on task forces with the American Camp Association on both a local and national level. George chaired the annual Tri-State Camping Conference in New York City in 2000 and 2001, which is the largest gathering of camping professionals in the world!

George is a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall and Tufts University, where he played football, basketball and lacrosse. George is an avid skier and completed the 2005 NYC marathon. He served on the auction committee at Montessori School of Denver and participated in his very first Celebrity Bull Riding Contest in January, 2008 to benefit underprivileged children. He is currently a board member of Outward Bound. His biggest thrill comes from coaching his sons in flag football and dressing up as cartoon characters (see Clifford right).
